Biography of Grieb |
Observation 4.1 January 14, 2004 Hopefully all of you had a happy
holiday season and got all kinds of great presents. Sue and I had a great
“first” holiday season in our new house, and our New Year’s party
was a blast (make sure to mark the calendar for this year’s!). I normally do some sort of
“Top” 10 predictions list, but I will forego that this year and kind
of just ramble about things. So sit back, and enjoy (I hope). Grandma’s socksI miss those socks that my
grandmother used to sow for me. I hated them when I was young, because
they were gray – and all I wanted to wear at that time was white tube
socks. The truth is, those socks were really comfortable, warm, and
well-made. And, they were from my grand-ma, who I probably should’ve
talked more to, and shown more interest in. She was a great person who
went through a lot of stuff in her life to make sure the lives of her
children, and their children, etc., would be better. By far, the best CD I bought in
2003 was the Hot Hot Heat cd. It has that song “Bandages” on it, which
is extremely catchy. There are about 5 or 6 other songs that are probably
just as catchy. I highly recommend it. I also like the CD by Jet, and the
one by Rooney. Brandon and I went to a concert in Philly over the summer,
and he bought me another catchy cd by a group called the Matches. Best Days of 2003Obviously, my wedding day was the
best day for me in 2003. Additionally, the honeymoon dates were fantastic
too. I’ve already done an observation on that, so I won’t bore you
with the details again. Other great days included the trip to Toronto to
see the Stones again, Styk’s House party, the day we made settlement on
the house, and the day we moved into the house. We bought some great stuff for
the new house – dining room set, bedroom set, a beautiful couch….but
the best purchase has probably been the karaoke machine. We use that thing
so often, we’ll probably end up wearing it out. We currently have around
280 songs that people can choose to sing – mostly Stones, stuff, but
lots of other good stuff.. I would like the following things to be completed in our house:
If we get to all of these things, our house will look amazing. We’ve already done so much, though! Worst Day of 2003: The worst one was probably when
the Eagles lost to Tampa in the NFC championship game. I was down for
weeks. It still kind of hurts to talk about it. Another tough day was when
I left Penn State – I left a lot of great co-workers and friends behind.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the people I work with at Lockheed now, but
it was tough leaving Penn State for that reason. I’d really like to go somewhere
fun for vacation – maybe the Jersey shore, possibly Las Vegas, Nags
Head, who knows. We are going to get a hefty refund come tax time, but
We’ll probably put most of it to credit card bills we’ve incurred over
the past year. I can’t wait to get those paid off!
