Observation 3.1.7 May 27, 2003 So much for Memorial Day Weekend - have you ever (if you live in or around Philly, that is) seen this amount of precipitation that we have received in the past 6 months ever in your life? It's the end of May, and I still needed a jacket this weekend (not to mention the umbrella). Since when did our climate begin to emulate the climates of England and Seattle? Anyway, I had a great time this Memorial Day weekend despite the atrocious weather. I got to see my former college roommate, Matt Robinson, and got the pleasant surprise of seeing Smokin' Steve Skalish - yes, folks, he's officially back in Philly - hopefully you'll be hearing him on the radio real soon (he does traffic). Additionally, I got to see Sheri and Craig, and from what I remember (long afternoon/night party), we all had a great time, and if I offended anybody, I apologize. It's good to taste good barbecue food again, it kind of seems like forever since the last time I've tasted charred animal flesh (tastes better than it sounds), especially with that long winter we had. I probably had too much barbecue food this weekend, mainly because Sue and Lisa cooked up some burgers and dogs on Sunday, and Kurt and Trish cooked up a variety of steaks on Monday. If it were up to me, I would make it mandatory to have at least one meal barbecued every single day. I can't wait to start having barbecues at my house (it looks like the target move-in date is June 28, I think). Not only does Memorial Day signify the unofficial start of summer, but it also signifies the unofficial start of horse-shoe season (no, we don't go out with our guns hunting for horse-shoes). Actually, I've played a couple of times prior to Memorial Day. Just last week, Rich and I threw some shoes at his place.....for about 3 hours straight. We played a game in which only Ringers counted as points. Rich beat me, 30-27, but I did have a highlight in which I hit 4 ringers in a row. Can't start practicing too soon for Styk's party. Oh, for those of you who are interested, our hockey team is having a 2-hour party down at the Toll House this coming Sunday, from 3-5 p.m. It is a celebration for the championship our team recently won. Stop by if you are in the area (I'll hopefully have pictures up soon!). Observation 3.1.1 - New Grieb Updates (new house, new job, new Grieb) - 3/17/03 Observation 3.1.3 - Philadelphia Flyers playoff prediction, new house - 4/7/03 Observation 3.1.4 - Bull Durham - 4/14/03 Observation 3.1.5 - House update, Hockey playoffs, Philly Sports, Smokin' Steve - 4/28/03
