Punxatawny, PA: Berlin had the unfortunate task of traveling to Punxatawny during it's biggest day of the year,
Groundhog Day, and the Panzies made sure that the holiday ended on a good note, trouncing the
Bratwurst 45-17. The Brats found themselves in an early 21-0 hole, after the offense was unable
to move the ball, the defense stumbled, and the special teams gave up a record 91-yard punt return
or a touchdown. The Brats once again proved resilient by battling back to 21-17 in the third quarter,
but LaPolla's Panzies got back on track offensively, and moved the ball downfield twice to make the
score 35-17 towards the end of the fourth quarter. Berlin tried some deep plays but were picked
off twice, giving the Panzies the final two scores.
"We ran the ball well tonight, but that is about all we did well," said a dejected Grieb. "Give Cliff's team
credit, they dominated us offensively. We are going to have to reach down deep to get this train on
track again." The Barons have fallen out of first place for the first time in weeks, but with the Panzies'
bye week, and the Killers on deck, there is a chance for a first-place tie.
"I take nothing for granted - you saw how Tufftown almost beat us last time," explained Grieb. "The
way we are playing right now, and the way Tufftown has improved, they have just as good of a
chance as any team in beating us - and it would make their season."
